Why Re Enzo?

It was the year 1249 when, during the Battle of Fossalta, the Bolognese imprisoned Frederick II of Hohenstaufen's son. He spent 23 years in the Bolognese prisons but his long incarceration soon became a gilded cage due to the well-known hospitality that then typified the city of Bologna and which still now inspires the staff at the Hotel Re Enzo.
