Hotel Re Enzo is located in downtown Bologna, just a 10 minutes walk from Piazza Maggiore, a captivating square tucked between the red houses home to the splendid Basilica of San Petronio, Palazzo del Podestà and Palazzo Re Enzo, the gilded prison of the son of Frederick II of Hohenstaufen. Built in the thirteenth century, this fascinating palazzo houses conventions and can be used as an important Polyfunctional Center.

Just a short way away is Palazzo dei Notai, the heart of medieval political and social life; further on, the architecture of the town hall appears, topped by the beautify bell tower; in the adjacent Piazza Nettuno, the monumental fountain provides a lovely setting.

The ancient Via Emilia entered Bologna at the symbolic two towers: Torre Garisenda and Torre degli Asinelli, whose base portico is now the store front of some crafts shops; on a clear day we recommend you climb to the top and admire the panorama.
